What are the State and National certification requirements?

To become a Certified Massage Therapist in California, you need 500-hours from an approved school and a passing score on the Massage and Bodywork Licensing Examination (MBLEx).  Graduates of our  California Approved 650-hour program have a 100% pass rate on the MBLEx. There is no longer a National Certification Exam.

Because our program is 650-hours and prepares students well for the MBLEx , it meets or exceeds the licensing and certification requirements for most states, except New York, New Hampshire, Nebraska, and Arizona.  Arcata School of Massage has specific approval from California, Hawaii, Oregon, and Washington.
